Summerfest is run by the Manning Youth Action Team (MYAT), supported by Greater Taree City Council, to showcase the talent of young bands and musicians from across the Manning Valley.

Summerfest was postponed in December due to thunderstorms. MYAT team member, Carly Walker, is hopeful for better luck with the weather this week.

“We were unlucky with the stormy weather last month, but with most people now home from holidays, we’re looking to celebrate summer with a big crowd at Summerfest this Saturday,” Carly said.

All acts have reconfirmed, including Sweet Nothin’, Soar, Featuring and The Respectables, as well as a number of acoustic performers.

Headliners will be Eleven Eleven, who are long-time supporters of MYAT events and were a big drawcard at Taree’s recent New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Summerfest is a family-friendly drug and alcohol-free event. Entry to Summerfest is $5 or $10 per family.

MYAT will also be hosting a barbecue on the night.

All proceeds from the evening go to support MYAT’s activities for young people in the Manning Valley.
